Egypt, I was told, is famous for its painted balconies. In Lebanon, balconies very much belong to the cityscape of Beirut, but they are rather characterized by their colourful awnings. In this case, a huge copy of a baroque painting has been painted or hung on a balcony close to the area of Gemmayze.
