Clocks and watches with Muslim or Islamic motifs are not very rare in the commodity world Islam. They are strongly needed in order not to miss the prayer times for example. Pocket watches though are rare as much as works in relief.  This make this specimen seem slightly anachronistic.  

On the lid we can see one of the most common motifs: the Kaaba and its surrounding in Mecca. Also not very common is the use of Hindu-Arabic numerals.
